About Local Business America
Local Business America is a network of local guides and business directories in the United States. Each guide covers one area and a handful of neighboring towns, and lists the businesses, stories, offers and events there.
Who runs it
ES Studios, at ericscottstudios.com. This site is the front door. Each guide has its own address under localbusinessamerica.org.
There are six guides so far: South Orange County, North County San Diego, Temecula Valley, San Diego, North Atlanta, Park City & Summit County. New areas are added one at a time.
Where the listings come from
Listings in the guides are built from public sources. A business owner can claim a listing to correct it or add to it. Claiming is free, and a person checks each claim before it is approved.
The pages on this site that list businesses by kind and place are made from those same listings. They are in A to Z order.
How it earns money
From businesses, not from readers. Every business has a free listing. A business can pay for more on its listing: Essentials is $19 a month and Premium is $39 a month.
One paid feature affects order. Inside a guide, a Premium listing is lifted to the top of its category. On this site, lists stay A to Z, and nobody pays to appear higher. See what each plan includes.
What it does not do
It does not check licences, and it does not call any business verified. Being listed is not a recommendation. Before you hire anyone, check their licence with the state board yourself.
It does not sell leads, and it does not promise a business calls or a place in search results.
Where the facts come from
Town pages name the sources they were written from. Cost guides show who published each figure and when, and add none of our own. Pages about other companies quote those companies' own words, with a link to each.
If a listing is wrong, the owner can fix it by claiming it in its guide. How we handle data is in the privacy page.
